Mr. Doan Du Manh, member of Vietnam AssociationIt is not uncommon for patient T patient.During the working process, the doctor has encountered many cases of patients under 40 years old but had hypertension, when the examination discovered the cause was due to kidney failure.
According to the doctor, the case of idiopathic hypertension in young people is very rare.Hypertension in young people is often related to a number of diseases such as kidney failure, kidney tumor, hyperthyroidism in women.
Dr. Manh also encountered a case of colleagues working in the same unit, one day accidentally measuring blood pressure to detect blood pressure increased 170mmHg.Later, colleagues went to the doctor and discovered adrenal tumors. After that colleague surgery to remove adrenal tumors, blood pressure returned to normal.
The doctor said the kidneys not only play the role of filtering liquids in the body, but it also holds the duty to balance blood pressure at a stable level. The damaged kidney will lead to a decrease in kidney function, which has the ability to regulate blood pressure, causing the blood pressure index to rise. This can cause other health consequences for patients, such as heart attack or stroke.
"If hypertension in young people is due to pathological problems, when the patient completely treats the disease, the blood pressure index will be stable again," said Dr. Manh.
The level of danger of hypertension
Blood pressure is an essential blood pressure on the artery wall to bring blood to nourish the tissue in the body. The blood pressure is produced by the force of the heart and the resistance of the artery.
As recommended by the European Heart Association and the Vietnam Heart Association, hypertension is when systolic blood pressure is ≥140 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure ≥90 mmHg.
According to strong doctor, hypertension in young people can cause atherosclerosis to form early and progress into diseases that affect the cardiovascular and brain system. Therefore, early detection and timely treatment of hypertension in young people will contribute to prevent complications and limit the risk factors for cardiovascular and brain disease.
How to measure blood pressure correctly
Dr. Manh also added that the monitoring of blood pressure is very important. In particular, people need to make blood pressure properly. When measuring blood pressure, it is necessary to pay attention to the following issues:
- Should measure blood pressure in the morning, note not to drink coffee, alcohol, smoke before measuring blood pressure.
- The blood pressure measurement needs to rest for 15-30 minutes, measured in a lying position, sitting back or leaning comfortably, hands to horizontal chest.
- Should measure at least 2 times, each time each interval and measure both hands (ie total 4 times).
- If the blood pressure index is detected, the patient needs to rest for 30 minutes and then measure.
